Resolutions
I think one of the most common new year's resolutions is to lose weight - which means eating less. This is an admirable goal and one I'm trying to maintain. However if you have made such a resolution this year, we want you to lay it aside for just one day. That day is January 22nd when we hold our next fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse. Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite places. It is family friendly and you can get a nice meal at a decent price. The wiat staff even breaks into line dancing from time to time. They offer free peanuts and you can even pick out your own steak if you want to. But the best thing about Texas Roadhose is the rolls. They melt in your mouth and the maple butter is delicious. And you can have as many as you want. I usually fill up on rolls and take most of my dinner home with me.
Now all of this is not to promote the Texas Roadhouse as it is to encourage everyone to join us on the 22nd. Texas Roadhouse will donate 10% of every meal purchase to the church. If a lot of people show up, that could mean a lot of money to Holy Nativity. So invite as many people as you can to come between 12 and 4 pm. Whoever comes just needs to present a flyer to the server to get the donation. Flyers are available at the church so take a bunch to give to family and friends. We set the date to coincide with our annual meeting, so if you come to the meeting, we can arrange car pooling to the restaurant.
One other resolution you may have made (hopefully) is to attend church regularly this year. Just as we need to eat regularly to maintain our physical health, so should we gather at the Lord's table regularly to maintain our spiritual health.
Much success on all your new year's resolutions and I will see you in church.
Happy New Year,
Pastor Ken
